Music Video Response

Britney Spears: Till The World End
The setting is in a city and more specifically what appears to be a subway station, at some points fire is present. The theme of destruction can be seen due to the fire and the demolishing of buildings in the city. Sunlight is present at the end of the music video and Britney pops up from underground, which creates contrast as we see a lot of darkness at the beginning of the video. The clothes the people wear in the video are some what dark and gothic, yet revealing. When the song is at its "peak", water appears on some bodies which helps create the mood. The production value of this video would appear to be high, due to all of the effects and props, as well as the large cast.

Devo: Whip it
The main prop and focus in this video is the whip. The setting is that of a barn, which shows the time frame that the video is taken in. Quite a bit of attention is drawn to the women in this video. In addition, the clothing of the women would have been considered some what revealing, especially as the song progresses. The production value would appear to be low, as at this time there were not as many resources available. The video was in day light so artificial lighting did not have to be used as much.

Blake Shelton: Honey Bee
We are introduced to the setting, being a home and neighborhood, making the mood very light. The presence of children, families and elders makes the video very appropriate. Most of the focus is on Blake Shelton, we are able to see his emotion through his facial expression and at one point through the look of his dog face. The setting seems like that of a typical "country area" in the US. Although this video is modern and current, the setting does seem somewhat in the past because of the cars being used and the presence of a lemonade stand. The production value would considered low in todays society, especially in comparison to other videos on the top charts.
